About The Collection

Between carved surface and digital light.

Cryptomnesia examines the boundary between memory, source, and invention through the intersection of analog and digital processes. The term describes the experience of recalling an idea as original when it derives from forgotten sources.

Originating in linocut and reconfigured through digital illustration, the works carry forward earlier marks while displacing their context. Across twelve works, gestures, impressions, and structures endure in altered form, held between emergence and disappearance, as though memory itself had assumed material form. The process enacts cryptomnesia: past impressions return, detached from their source.

Printed on heavily textured paper, the works foreground the physicality of recollection: traces, residues, and impressions rather than fixed narratives. Cryptomnesia I - The Absorbed marks the entry into this terrain, where perception turns inward and boundaries begin to dissolve, while Cryptomnesia XII - The Estranged marks its outer limit, where forms persist in separation, no longer able to recognize their source.

Originality emerges as recombination, a continuous reconfiguration of fragments whose source can no longer be fully retrieved.
